Which insurance company in California offers a $5K-$10K term life policy?

I am looking for a term life policy which pays $5-$10K. All of the major companies I searched for do not give online quotes and the services that do offer online quotes start at $100K.
It is for burial purposes. The amount is low because that is all it would cost and because the monthly premiums have to be low over and paid over as little time as possible.
Every time I try getting a quote online it does not give it to me and has a form for an agent to contact me. When I call a local agent, they do not give me any details and are not helpful if I can even get a hold of them.
Doris: went to toplifeinsurance. They do not sell burial policies in California.
Richard: That link was a guide to several insurance companies but they wont give quotes online and have a contact form for a salesman to call me.
I want life insurance because if something happens they will pay out for burial no matter when you go, but a burial plan does not bury you unless you are paid in full. If I have no one else to do that, I have to have life insurance to leave the money with someone to do that.
Henry: That was a good web link you gave. The insurance companies there could not sell a policy for less than $100K and they are not the highest rated companies. Thanks.
I have to pick Best Answer but everyone send good answers. I found out that term life won’t work because of the high policy amount & the 10-year limit. Thanks to all.

What could possibly be the purpose of a term policy for this small an amount?

Term insurance is temporary insurance; it is for temporary needs only. A death benefit this low could likely only be a burial policy. Such a policy is worthless unless it is guaranteed to be in force when the insured dies. That means that permanent coverage is required.

How many of you have actually studied the health care "crisis"?

And not just listened to what others tell you?

We hear: "other countries have a longer life expectancy." Why?:

Researchers from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston compared the results of two large-scale surveys of the U.S. population regarding adherence to five healthy lifestyle habits.

According to their findings, between 1988 and 2006:

The percentage of obese adults between 40 and 74 (determined by body mass index of 30 or higher) increased from 28% to 36%, reinforcing findings of many studies indicating Americans are getting fatter.
Physical activity 12 times or more per month among people in that age group declined from 53% to 43%.
Smoking rates remained essentially flat, going from 26.9% to 26.1%.
Those people eating five or more fruits and vegetables daily dropped from 42% to 26%.
Moderate alcohol use increased from 40% to 51%. Moderate use was defined as having up to one drink daily for women and two for men.

We hear: "We have 47 million uninsured." The truth?:

"A closer look at that report reveals the Census data include 9.487 million people who are “not a citizen.” Subtracting the 10 million non-Americans, the number of uninsured Americans falls to roughly 37 million."
"Many of the same people pushing the incorrect numbers of uninsured Americans also claim that these people cannot “afford” insurance."
"But according to the same Census report, there are 8.3 million uninsured people who make between $50,000 and $74,999 per year and 8.74 million who make more than $75,000 a year. That’s roughly 17 million people who ought to be able to “afford” health insurance because they make substantially more than the median household income of $46,326."

"So what is the true extent of the uninsured “crisis?” The Kaiser Family Foundation, a liberal non-profit frequently quoted by the media, puts the number of uninsured Americans who do not qualify for current government programs and make less than $50,000 a year between 13.9 million and 8.2 million."

We hear: There won’t be government rationing or other issues Republicans use as "scare tactics." The truth?:

In an article DEFENDING their health care system, the U.K. admits, at the very end of this article, that:

"British officials acknowledge that their system has been struggling to cope and faces a 15 billion pound ($24 billion) deficit. Hospitals are often overcrowded, dirty and understaffed, which means some patients do not get the care they are promised."

How many of the senators do you believe educated themselves on the health care "crisis" before voting for a ONE TRILLION DOLLAR bill?
JM and Lefty-

Wow, you guys are sheep. These little things I copied and pasted are called FACTS. I know you guys just go by what the Dems tell you, but you should try educating yourself. You’ll feel better about yourselves.

We could leave the system as it is and take the left over TARP money and insure the entire UNINSURED. This would cause less stress and money but it is not about this, it is about control.

I was a R.N. for 32 years and there is a crisis brought on by the Government regulation. If not for the government cost fixing the price of the MD and Hospitals and causing them to lose money on the government paid patients there would not be the constant escalation of the cost of visits. The loss of the government payment patient is made up by the doctor and the hospital by the insured patient making up the difference.

The GOVERNMENT HAS CAUSED THE CRISIS AND THEIR ACTIONS WILL NOT FIX IT.

Why do people use Met Auto insurance?

Or All-State, or Progressive for that matter? My insurance rates are ridiculous because of my age and since I’ve had an accident, so I’ve been shopping around. I’ve learned that through Met Life and Auto I get a 20% discount from my employer, but even with that my monthly payment for $1,000 deductible is $365.00 (yes I said monthly, $415.00 for the smaller deductible).

All-State and Progressive quoted me similar prices. So I called a couple of places that I’ve never heard of before, that offer the EXACT same benefits, and one of them quoted me for $200.00 a month. So I am saving over $160.00 for using a company that isn’t a big name, and there’s no coverage differences.

I guess I just don’t understand why more people don’t use the "non big name" insurance companies if they can save you this much money.

Some of the LEGIT smaller companies offer those cheaper rates because they are more picky about who they take. Since they take people less likely to get in accidents they don’t have to pay out as much. Don’t be surprised at how quick those smaller places would drop you with another accident, and I don’t blame them. They have smaller legal departments and smaller in size so they have less overhead. Now I do agree to check their ratings with people who research insurance companies and such. If they are legit then be glad you really shopped around. A lot of people are too afraid to contact someone they hadn’t heard of. They would call a place like State Farm and All-State and Progressive and all, but never talk to a lesser known like Farmers or Travelers, or a totally unheard of. They are afraid of doing any research so they are willing to pay far more.
