Life Insurance question….need advice!?

Hi, I was at a family gathering and ended up talking to a cousin, who sells Insurance. I mentioned looking into getting a whole life policy and maybe throwing some business her way. She told me to give her a call when I was ready. After the party it suddenly dawned on me that life insurance applications get very personal, and you usually have to divulge your medical history. I have had multiple surgeries in the past 10 years. My relatives, her included, tend to talk a lot and I don’t want her knowing my medical background. Although she told me to call her when I was ready, she’s already CALLED ME asking for personal info to get me rate quotes. How can I get out of this, without hurting her feelings?

Just explain to your cousin you’ve decided not to buy any life insurance at this time. Tell her it’s a personal decision and you really don’t want to get into a discussion about it. Thank her for her interest and let it end at that.

You get out of it by saying no. Period. It’s pretty tacky for a sales agent to pump relatives for business. More to the point, do you NEED life insurance and is whole life the best thing for YOU? You need to decide that before applying for ANY insurance.

    Run, and run away fast.
Faster than you have ever ran in your entire life !!!!!

She found a job online – selling BAD insurance that probably will be out of business by next year.
This insurance is the most expensive you will ever find.

If you ever get insurance get term life – and don’t get it from a person in a pyramid scheme.
Don’t ask her if she is in a pyramid scheme – she has no clue and will deny it.
She will soon find out what a scam company she has involved herself with .
    Just give it time

Note: you only need insurance if you have dependents that can’t live withour your salary.
Don’t you get life insurance through work?
Up it – or get it – it will be at least half as cheap – anything is cheaper – anything.

The very worst company is Primerica.
They are running this scam all over the US.
Your sister paid a couple of grand for taking the tests and signing up – hope she makes her money back – but not from you.

It’s business. Feelings don’t come into it.

Just let her know, you’ve thought about it, and don’t want to mix business and family.

Tell her you’ve changed your mind and are not ready now to discuss life insurance with her right now then go talk to a licensed agent. Despite what others may think, whole life may be right for you or it may not.

Though insurance is about life, not all the policies are alike. A whole life policy is usually a mixture of insurance and investment. So, while insurance proposal beyond a certain age and risk cover is verified, it doesn’t take anything to make an invesment.

First, tell the agent that you presently have no funds to buy the policy but would like to get information about it including the premium, features, benefits and conditions. This should either turn her down or on the other and you can get information about the policies without any worry as you already mentioned that you can’t buy the policy. Enquire about the conditions for medical tests i.e. "beyond what age or sum assured are medical tests compulsory? If you find out that medicals are not compulsory for the age and sum assured you selected, then go on with the policy.
